Morayfield State School implements the Australian Curriculum in English, Maths, History and Science and Geography from Prep to Year 6. The Australian Curriculum sets out the core knowledge, understanding, skills and general capabilities that are important for all Australian students. A connected curriculum will engage learners in the other key learning areas.
The connected curriculum is a sequential learning journey from Prep to year 6 through a curriculum framework. Each class’ learning journey includes cross curriculum Essential Learnings from the Key Learning Areas of The Arts, and Health and Physical Education. Each unit has appropriate assessment tasks and Essential Learnings Modules recommending a preferred way to engage students in learning.
We place great importance on engaged learning, offering a varied approach to our teaching and learning. We value individual differences and abilities in our students and customise our school teaching practices to meet these. Adjusted school programs are offered for students who are part of the Special Education Unit.
