School-wide systems for student success and multi-tiered system of support
At Morayfield State School we are committed to meeting the needs of all students. We do this by operating a multi-tiered system of support. This tiered system of support recognises the need for students to have access to differentiated learning opportunities for both curriculum and behaviour.
Tier I supports:
Whole school processes for the support of learning and behaviour and explicit teaching of curriculum and behavioural expectations in the classroom.
Examples
Curriculum: Teaching units matched to ACARA.
Behaviour: Weekly behaviour lessons to be explicitly taught across the whole school
Tier II supports:
Identified students participate in small group intervention designed to support specific needs.
Examples
Curriculum: Oral language and phonological awareness focus groups in Prep and Year 1
Behaviour: Play rosters
Tier lll supports:
Design and implementation of targeted interventions to improve access to learning for students with significant difficulties accessing the curriculum.
Examples:
Curriculum: Individual Curriculum Plan
Behaviour: Individual Behaviour Support Plan
